The Dark Side of the City

 I read The Dark Side of the City, a level 2 book in the Cambridge English Readers. This is a mystery story. A man asks investigator, Nat Marley to help with a family problem. As he finds some true things, he knows the dark side of the city. This is a good mystery. I enjoyed reading this book. I want you to read it. By the way, do you think are there any dark sides of your city? And If there are dark sides of your city, do you want to know about it? I don't want to know about the dark side of the city because it may be dangerous and I may not be able to live in peace. I have to be worried about it. I don't know about the dark side of my hometown, but perhaps there is the dark side.... What do you think about it?

Logan's Choice

 I read Logan's Choice, a level 2 book in the Cambridge English Readers. This story is about mystery. Alex is a restaurant owner. He has a lot of money. One day he was killed by someone in the bath. Jolly Logan is a inspector. She searches the truth. There are two people who are suspected as a criminal. One of them is Lan Ross. He manages Alex's restaurant with him. The other one is Donald Johnstone. He is a brother of Alex's wife.Which one is the real criminal? This book was very interesting for me. If you like suspense, this book is very good. Even if you don't like it, I think you can enjoy this book. I recommend this book for all of you.

Different World

 I read Different World, a level 2 book in the Cambridge English Readers. It is a love story. The main character is a woman, Sam. She is deaf, but she have a good time with her mother and friends. One day she met Jim. He was a good man. She enjoyed talking with him and gradually fell in love each other. At the party she found a woman, Lauren.  She is a former girlfriend of Jim. Lauren told her that Jim is a musician.  Sam didn' t know about it, so she was shocked. She wanted Jim to tell her about it. She was worried about him and her own deafness. They are in a different world. Can they meet and spend a good time together again? I think having physical disabilities is hard thing, but people can find any importance things by having it. If I find people who have physical disabilities, I want to find something what I can and support them. Although sometimes we face some difficulties, we can get over it by talking with family and friends. This book was very good, so I want you to read it.

Holly the Eco Warrior

 

 

 I read Holly the Eco Warrior, a level 2 book in the Helbling Readers. This book is about the environment and family. A girl think that protecting the environment is very important. Her father planed to cut down the tree and build an office, but she disagreed with the idea because she liked the tree. She was angry for father and didn't listen to what he says. She didn't spend time with her family and lived in the tree house. It was comfortable for her to live there, but her family was worried about her. Although her mother told her to go back to family house, she didn't listen to it. One day it was thundering. Is Holly and the tree house safe? What does her family think about her and the tree? This book is good for us to think about the environment. What do you think about the environment? Is it important?  Also I think this book tells us the importance of having our own idea. We can affect people by having it and telling it. If we have any important ideas about something, it is good to tell other people. Please check this book!

The Spring Cup

"Getting things or winning isn't really important. Being happy is important." (P.22 L.8~9)

 I read The Spring Cup, a level 3 book in the Helbling Readers. The main character is Caroline. She is a good rider and her horse is a great horse. She always does her best, but it's difficult for her to win a competition because there is another good rider. Sophie is good at riding horse and she always win the competition. Caroline's parents want her to win the competition, then they always tell her about winning. One day her father said her to sell her horse if she can't win. She is very sad because she loves her horse. Caroline's young brother listen to their talk and he thought he want to help her. At the day of the competition, he does insincere things for Sophie's horse. Because of his bad behavior, Caroline can win the competition and get the big gold trophy. But it isn't right things. Later, she find that her brother did bad things for Sophie. She don't want to win the competition by the insincere way. So, She decide to tell Sophie the true things. If she told her true things and her father find that she didn't win, she may not stay with her favorite horse. It is a sad thing for her. She is a very honest girl. I respect her behavior. Being honest is good, I think. Does Sophie forgive Caroline? Can Caroline compete with Sophie with her horse? I think winning is not the most important things in my life. There are any important things in my life. For example, spending time with my family and friends happily. This book is the best in our literature circle! Please try this!

The Clever Woman

 His mother is playing the guitar. His wife is playing the piano. His two younger children are fighting. His older children are arguing about the television. And the pots and pans are bubbling on the cooker. But Mr Murphy doesn't mind. Now his house seems so quiet. (P.24 L.3~6)

  I read The Clever Woman, a book in the Helbling Readers series. The main character a man, Mr Murphy. He is tired because of his job, so he want to relax at his home. But his mother is playing the guitar and his wife is playing the piano. Also, his children are arguing. He can't relax with all the noise. In order to solve this problem, he asks the clever woman to help him. She tells him some ways to improve the situation, but it doesn't seem to be good idea. He does what she said,  but his house doesn't become quiet. On the contrary, his house is noisier. He doesn't know what to do, so he goes to see the clever woman again. She tells him a way and he tries the way. Finally, he can relax at his home. The idea of the clever woman is nice. I thought she is really clever. What does she say to him?

Within High Fence

 I don't want a big house anymore. I want to change. I'm going to do something with my life. (P.30 L.13 ~15)

 I read Within High Fence,  a level 2 book in Cambridge English Readers series. This story is about love and mystery. The main character is a woman, Nancy. She has a rich boyfriend and work as a guard. She likes her job, but her boyfriend, Tom don't like it. She works in a center for asylum seekers who want to live Great Britian because of bad problems in their countries. There she met a man, George. At first she thought he is a bad man, but gradually she found that he is a very kind and nice person. Nancy and George love each other. Nancy wanted to live with George, not Tom. Tom said to Nancy that George wants only money because Tom didn't want to lose Nancy. But she didn't believe Tom and decided to live with George. One day, in Nancy's small house, someone stole her things. When her things were stolen, there is no person in her room. When she came back to home, she found this incident. George wasn't there and didn't come back to Nancy's home. Who is the criminal of this incident? And where is George? Can Nancy and George meet and live with again?

Fireball's Heart

I read Fireball's Heart. This book is in the Helbling Readers series. In this book, there are two tribes. In one tribe, it is said that people always tell the truth. Do people really tell the truth? One day Dark Eyes met a girl, Blue Feather. They eat and tell each other stories. They like each other. When Dark Eyes get closer, Blue Feather is crying. She is very ill. She told him the heart of the best horse on the prairie is needed. And she must eat it in order to get better. He thought he can't kill the horse because he likes the horse very much, but he likes her too and wanted to help her. He decided to kill the horse and help her. He didn't wanted her to die. He has to say to Wise Owl that he killed the horse, but it's not easy. Does Dark Eyes tell the truth? Please check the end of this book!

Slam Dunk for Mark

I read Slam Dunk for Mark, a level 3 book in the Foundations Reading library. Mark is a good basketball player at the school. Thanks to him, the team won the game and the team would join the finals. He has no mother and father. He lives with  only grandmother. She was sick, so he took care of her. But her condition doesn't become good, so he decided to take her to a hospital. It's the final game day. He told his team members that he couldn't play on the final game. They complained him. What is important thing is the theme in this book. I enjoyed this book.

A Picture to Remember

 I read A Picture to Remember, a level 2 book in the Cambridge English Readers. The main character is a woman, Cristina. One day she rode on her bike. Someone hit her bike and she fell down from her bike. She was alive luckily, but she lost memories about the bike accident. People who hurt her are two men. They are robber. Cristina saw them face, so they tried to kill her. But she didn't die. Two men wanted to kill her, so they monitored and followed her. They knew her life style. In her house, there is a picture. It's important picture to remember her memories. She talked about the strange things happened her with her friend. They tried to catch the criminal. Her memory is very important to find them. Can she remember her memory??

The Big Balloon Race

 

I read The Big Balloon Race, a level 3 book in the An I Can Read Book. The main character is a little girl, Ariel. One day a big balloon race was held. Ariel was looking forward to it. Her mother joined the race. Ariel wanted to go up in the balloon, but her mother said that Ariel is too young to fly. Ariel cheered up her mother. On the way of the race, she had some troubles. It was hard for her, but thanks to Ariel, she could won the race. Ariel was really brave. Finally her mother said that Ariel is old enough to fly. Ariel was great!!

Zombies in Tokyo

Today I read Zombies in Tokyo in the Atama-ii Books. In this book, I have to choose the next page. I live in Tokyo. One day I found a woman lying on the station. She was not alive, but was not dead. She is a zombie! I found one family by there and followed them. They said they must escape from Tokyo. I run with them. A boy in the family was bitten by zombie. I hit the zombie by baseball bat, so he was OK. But his leg was hurt. There were two choices. One is going. The other is worrying about his leg. I decided to go. Then I survived! This book was scared, but interesting!

The Lost Cup

Today I read The Lost Cup. This book is in the Atama-ii Books series. The setting is in Brazil. In this book I choice the next page by myself. I'm a detective in this book. I look for the cup of winning game. The country which win in the World Cup of Soccer got the cup. But one day the cup was lost. I look for it with a good detective, John. It's a dangerous so I have to take care. Can you find the cup safely?

Mary Queen of Scots

 'Don't cry for me, ladies,’ she said. (p.39 l.2) 

 I read Mary Queen of Scots, a level 1 book in the Oxford Bookworms Library. This is about Mary's life story. Mary is a young Queen of Scots. She is beautiful and clever. Many men love her, but also there are many enemies for her. Her husbands were killed by some way. Mary was so sad. Many people think Mary killed her husband, but it's not true. She didn't kill him and didn't want to kill him. She asked Elizabeth for help, but she didn't help. She put Mary in prison for twenty years.
The end of this book is sad for me, but I felt her strength. Please read this book!

Aladdin

 I cannot live without you, and I want to marry you. (p.25 l.11)

 I read Aladdin and the Enchanted Lamp, a level 1 book in the Oxford Bookworms Library. The main character is a boy. His name is Aladdin. He live with his mother. They are poor, so his mother work hard. But Aladdin don't work and play all time. His mother don't like it. One day, a old man come and speak to Aladdin. He say that he is Aladdin's uncle. He is kind of Aladdin, but actually he is not Aladdin's uncle. He wants a magic lamp. In a dark place, Aladdin found the lamp.Then smoke came out of the ring. There was a big jinnee. The jinnee can realize Aladdin's wish. Aladdin became rich and could eat good foods. Aladdin could realize many things thanks to the jinnee. I hope that I could see the jinnee. And I want the jinnee to realize my wish. What's your wish??

The Elephant Man

 I read The Elephant Man, a level 1 book in the Oxford Bookworms Library. The main character is a man. His name is Joseph Merrick, but he is called the elephant man by many people. He isn't beautiful. His look isn't good. So when people see him, they laugh at him. One day a man thought he want to help Merrick. He wanted to give Merrick a home. He wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper to get money. The readers were kind and gave money. Merrick could live in a good room. Merrick didn't have a friend, but one day a woman came to his room. It's a good meet for him. He was happy that she smiled at him and shook his hand. Gradually, he had a lot of friends. I thought the end is happy, but I was surprised at the end of this book. I couldn't expect it. I want you to check it. You will be surprised too. Also, this is true story and famous movie. I want to watch it on movie.

Christmas In Prague

  I read Christmas in Prague, a level 1book in the Oxford Bookworms Library. The main characters are Carol, Jan and Josef. They are family. Carol want to go to Prague with her family, but her father has bad memory about Prague. He is afraid, but he decide to go there. One day Carol found a man on the street. She thought the man is jan, her husband, but that is not true. The man is not jan. She run after the man. Suddenly, a bus come and hit her. She lay on the road. She was carried in the hospital. Her real husband and his father heard of the accident and came to see Carol. Also, the man, alike her husband came too because he is worried about her condition. Who is the man? Josef, Jan's father talked about the mystery of the family. When I found out the mystery, I was excited! Please check the mystery!
